What's New in Delta Zeta!

Congratulations to Marcia Wallace (Delta Nu), Delta Zeta Sorority 2009 Woman of the Year. Marcia played the quick witted receptionist on the Emmy nominated "The Bob Newhart Show" in 1972 and has also made guest appearances on "Taxi", "Magnum P.I"., "Alf", "Murder, She Wrote", and later as Murphy Brown's efficient secretary in the television series of that same name. A complete biography of Marcia Wallace can be found on the National Website, DeltaZeta.org

Florence Hood Miner, AB '27, Delta Zeta's National Historian Emeritus, passed away on August 23, 2009 at the age of 100.  Delta Zeta's "Living Legend" had a history as rich as that of our Sorority and was a well known figure at Delta Zeta conventions, proudly holding the record for the most conventions (34) ever attended.  She was also well known for her "Fireside Chats", stories about the sorority told in the presence of rapt collegians and alumnae alike with Mrs Miner's own inimitable sense of humor.  She will be dearly missed.

The Jacksonville Alumnae donated over $1,200 to Philanthropy in 2008-2009, including International Hearing Dogs, Inc., Parent Infant Awareness Program / Florida School for the Deaf & Blind Beaches Sea Turtle, Inc., Greenscape of Jacksonville, Delta Zeta Foundation and both the UF and FSU Collegiate Chapters.
